A Teen Bookworm - How to Host your Own FANDOMFEST

Hellooo.

So, this post is a tutorial on how to host your very own Fandomfest. Me and some of my friends came up with this idea, and we had the best time ever! It is super easy, can be used as a (surprise optional) birthday party, celebration or just for some fun!

Define Your Fest
Your Fandomfest should be limited to your best fandoms; stick to about five, six, seven and you should be fine. Base all objectives, such as food, around these fandoms. Make sure your guests know times, places and what to bring. Costumes are traditional, as is a movie marathon. Guests should each bring a movie and a type of food/drink from their fandom. Fandomfests  are traditionally based off of books, but anything works really!

Guest List
A Fandomfest should be a close gathering of all your fangirl besties; it is a celebration of your fandom and fangirl-ness. Depending on if you have it as a sleepover or a three hour thing, your guest list must be appropriate to your timeline. Think, is this friend part of these fandoms? Is this friend in the fandom, or involved in the fandom at all? Is this friend a fangirl?

What Activities?
Fandomfest falls in the early days of January traditionally, so base your activities around the weather. The fandoms we used were Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, The Mortal Instruments, The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent. We enjoyed a fun photoshoot, a blast of music and a movie marathon. Early pyjamas are a must.

THE FANDOMFEST
This is how our Fandomfest worked

- start of with a set up, with everybody in costume.
- a quick snack time, with Percy Jackson blue lemonade, Jace's mango, popcorn and Favourites.
- photoshoot time! Take lots of fun pics on how you imagine your characters would meet and act around each other.
- dinner, traditionally pizza with ice cream or/and Dauntless cake.
- pyjama time!
- movie marathon time! vary movies from chick flicks (the Clique), amazing movies (the Great Gatsby), and then the traditional fandom movies (Percy Jackson, Mortal Instruments, etc.)
